Thank you Ruudolf from this great card from Estonia. The great cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) was issued in 2025 as the Bird of the Year stamp. This species is quite widespread, being found in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and eastern North America. It has six subspecies. It feeds on fish and, in some countries, it is used by fishermen for fishing. Finally, it is considered a game bird in Norway.
