Issued in 1997, this maximum card feautures the brolga (Antigone rubicunda), a species of crane native to Australia and New Guinea. It is omnivorous, feeding on both plant material and invertebrates as well as frogs and lizards.

 

This maximum card from South Korea was issued in 2022 and it shows a crested ibis (Nipponia nippon). It is native to eastern Asia and it is unfurtunatelly an endangered species. It feeds on small fish, amphibians, eels, molluscs and insects. It has no subspecies.

I will now show you another of my self-made maxi cards. I used a 2009 stamp from Cyprus set Domestic Fowls.
Two things are wrong with the maxi card. The most visible is the quality of the postmark. This is due to the surface of the card which is not suitable for the ink used by the post office.
The second mistake is that while the stamp shows a Domestic Turkey the card shows a Wild Turkey (Meleagris Gallopavo) although they both are the same species.
Wild Turkey and specifically one of its six subspecies M.G.Gallopavo (South Mexican subspecies) is the ancestor of the domestic one. Wild Turkey is native to North America and it is omnivorous.

Here is the maximum card showing Norfolk Parakeet (Cyanoramphus cookii) which is endemic to the island. It lives in forests but it visits plantations to find fruit. It also eats seeds, flowers and leaves. It nests in tree-hollows. This parrot is threatened due to habitat loss.

Finishing with this bird I would like to show you this non official maximum card. Thanks to a friend in Taiwan who took it to the post office for a postmark and then send it back to me.
