The double-crested cormorant (Nannopterum auritum) can be found in North America and it has five subspecies. It is partially migratory. It feeds on both sea and freshwater fish.
The stamp to the right depicts a female vermilion flycatcher (Pyrocephalus obscurus). The males, in contrast to the females, have a red belly, neck and head. The species can be found in southern North America and northern South America. It is a monogamous bird with nine subspecies. They feed on insects.
